Atmospheric and Long Baseline Neutrino
This paper presents the recent results from Super-Kamiokande atmospheric neutri-nos and from K2K accelerator neutrinos. Both results show the signal of neutrino oscillation, and provide new and precise information of oscillation parameters. The oscillation parameters are constraint to be between 1.5×10 −3 eV 2 and 3.9×10 −3 eV 2 for ∆m 2 and to be greater than 0.92 for sin 2 2θ.
متن کاملStatus of Oscillation plus Decay of Atmospheric and Long-Baseline Neutrinos
We study the interplay of neutrino oscillation and invisible decay in atmospheric and long-baseline neutrinos experiments. We perform a global analysis of the full atmospheric data from Super-Kamiokande together with long-baseline K2K and MINOS in these scenarios. We find that the admixture of νμ → ντ oscillations with parameters ∆m232 = 2.6×10 −3 eV and θ23 ∼ 34 ◦ plus decay of the heavy neutr...
متن کاملAtmospheric Neutrinos
We examine the possibility of determining the neutrino mass hierarchy in the limit θ13 = 0 using atmospheric neutrinos as the source. In this limit, in which θ13 driven matter effects are absent, independent measurements of ∆31 and ∆32 can, in principle, lead to hierarchy determination. Since the difference between these two is ∆21, one needs an experimental arrangement where ∆21L/E & 1 can be ...
متن کاملAtmospheric neutrinos
The results of experiments on atmospheric neutrinos are summarized, with the important exception of Su-perkamiokande. The main emphasis is given to the Soudan-2 and MACRO experiments. Both experiments observe atmospheric neutrino anomalies in agreement with νµ → ντ oscillations with maximum mixing. The νµ → νs oscillation is disfavored by the MACRO experiment.
متن کاملAtmospheric muons and neutrinos
This paper is a mini-review of the atmospheric muon and neutrino flux calculations based upon a recent version of CORT code and up-to-date data on primary cosmic rays and hadronic interactions. A comparison of calculations with a representative set of atmospheric muon data for momenta below ∼ 1 TeV/c is presented. The overall agreement between the calculated muon fluxes and the data provides an...
